2. Which sources and data do we use?

We use the CONNECTME platform of Peppermint Event GmbH to organise the SCHUMANN conference.

In the framework of the use of the Platform, Peppermint Event GmbH and SCHUMANN will receive personal data transmitted by you through your participation/registration:

– Personal master data, first name and surname and/or the alias you have entered
– Communication data, E-mail address
– Chat entries
– Technical data

3. For what purpose and on what legal basis will my data be processed?

We process your person-related data under observation of the relevant data protection provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetzes, BDSG) as well as all other relevant legislation. The chat entries are stored for the purpose of evaluation, in order to be able to answer questions asked during the virtual conference at a later stage.

a. In the context of consideration of interests (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR)

In individual cases we process your data in order to protect our legitimate interests. In order to guarantee the quality of our online conference, the processing of the chat entries is necessary, insofar as questions cannot already be answered by the speakers during the virtual conference for reasons of time.

b. On the basis of your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a) GDPR)

Insofar as you have given us your consent to the processing of person-related data, the respective consent is the legal basis for the stated processing.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future. The withdrawal is only valid for the future.

4. Who will receive my data?

Within our company, your person-related data is only received by persons who need it for the fulfilment of our contractual and legal obligations.

Beyond this, the following persons may receive your data: Contracted processors used by us (Art. 28 GDPR) especially in the area of IT services, who process your data according to our instructions.

For the conference contributions transmitted via live stream no participant data, either person-related data or chat content, is visible for other participants. If the chat function is used during the virtual conference, it is possible that the speakers mention the name of the person asking a question when referring to this question directly and answering it.

5. How long will my detail be stored?

After the SCHUMANN Conference has taken place, the recordings from the SCHUMANN Portal will continue to be made available in the media centre. The chat will also be used for internal evaluation and subsequent responses.

The data will be deleted as soon as its purpose no longer exists or you have objected to further processing. Contracted processors will also be informed about the deletion. Equally, the data will be deleted from the software by the IT Administrators if possible, or at least will be blocked.

6. Will my data be transmitted to a third-party country?

No, your data will not be transferred to a third-part country.

7. Are you obliged to provide your data?

Within the framework of carrying out a video conference you must provide the person-related data which is necessary for carrying out the conference.

Without this data it will generally not be possible for you to take part in the online conference.

8. Do you wish to make a complaint about the handling of your data?

You have the possibility to contact our Data Protection Officer or a data protection regulatory authority. The data protection regulatory authority responsible for us is:

9. Which data protection right do I have?

You have the right to correction, deletion, limitation of processing as well as data transferability of your person-related data. You also have the right to complain to a data protection regulatory authority.

You have the right (right to information) to obtain information from us at any time about the data stored regarding your person.

If we process your data for the purpose of pursuing legitimate interests, you can refuse this processing for reasons resulting from your special situation.

We then stop processing your person-related data unless we can prove that there are compelling reasons for the processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims.
